The IMBR Handbook is a tool aimed at helping migrants, civil society activists, governments, and academics protect and promote the universal rights and norms, as outlined in the IMBR, that apply to all migrants, regardless of their migration status or the reason for their migration.

While the rights in the IMBR are enshrined in international human rights law, regional human rights treaties, and in the national law of various countries, violations of these human rights remain rampant. The IMBR Handbook communicates the content of the IMBR in non-technical language and promotes universal protections of the rights of migrants.

The most recent version of the IMBR Handbook has been optimized for easy printing and online viewing.

An earlier version was published in Volume 28 of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal.
