Before joining the Institute, she served as an Appellate Litigation Fellow in the D.C. Solicitor General\u2019s Office, where she handled a variety of Second Amendment litigation and argued in front of the D.C. Court of Appeals. Alex previously served as a law clerk to Judge Richard Paez of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and to Judge Myron Thompson of the Middle District of Alabama. Before law school, Alex worked on legislative policy on Capitol Hill and for the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>Alex received her law degree from Yale Law School, where she was a member of the San Francisco Affirmative Litigation Project, handled pro bono immigration representation, and advocated for a change in Connecticut\u2019s state law regarding living wills.
