{"id":472,"date":"2019-07-18T11:01:38","date_gmt":"2019-07-18T15:01:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/?page_id=472"},"modified":"2025-05-12T11:15:27","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T15:15:27","slug":"opening-americas-courts","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/","title":{"rendered":"Opening America&#8217;s Courts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ICAP successfully represented plaintiffs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/conte-v-zrioka\/\">seeking<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/barron-v-trikeriotis\/\">force compliance<\/a> with a Maryland law that guarantees public access to court audio recordings.\u00a0 In addition, ICAP represents plaintiffs in Maryland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/soderberg-v-carrion\/\">challenging a ban on broadcasting criminal court proceedings<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/hnlea-v-prince-georges-county\/\">intervening to unseal an expert report<\/a>, as well as clients in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/philadelphia-bail-fund-v-bernard\/\">affirmatively challenging<\/a> a ban on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/stroud-v-butler\/\">recording bail hearing proceedings<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/commonwealth-v-wittman\/\">defending<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/commonwealth-v-vanasdale\/\">against<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/icap\/our-work\/opening-americas-courts\/commonwealth-v-rice\/\">criminal charges<\/a> of recording in court.<\/p>\n<h2>Other Work<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/20\/23 &#8211;
