Marissa Higgins, from Buffalo, New York, is a current second-year J.D. candidate at Georgetown University’s Law Center. Marissa serves as an associate on Georgetown’s Environmental Law Review, works as a first-year Civil Procedure tutor in Georgetown Law’s Academic Enhancement Program, and volunteers with Neighborhood Legal Services of D.C. and Georgetown Medical School’s Health Justice Alliance Program.

Marissa joins the IIEL with previous experience in economic law gained through a federal judicial internship in the Third Circuit, a summer associate position with a large national law firm, and having interned for two Fortune 500 companies. Marissa is very interested in the practice of corporate law. She looks forward to hearing from the many thought leaders who speak through the IIEL to gain a deeper understanding of the international law framework and the current movements in international economic law research.
