Currently, she is studying at Georgetown as a member of the Japanese Government Overseas Fellowship Program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since entering MAFF in 2020, she has engaged in budget-making and amendment of regulations regarding Food and Agricultural Policy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She became interested in international trade law when she supervised legal affairs on the production, imports, and exports of rice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Given her ultimate goal of ensuring food security in Japan and the world, she aspires to explore ways of creating more equitable and sustainable trade regimes by studying at Georgetown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><br style=\"font-weight: 400\" \/><br style=\"font-weight: 400\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mai Ochiai is an LL.M. candidate at Georgetown Law with an interest in the nexus of trade, environment, and food security.
