Our Mission<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Institute of International Economic Law (IIEL) is dedicated to creating, refining, and building the ideas that will define the international economic order in the twenty-first century.<\/span> At the heart of the Institute\u2019s mission is a commitment to interdisciplinary, nonpartisan analysis and research into the most cutting-edge legal challenges facing practitioners and policymakers.<\/span><\/p>\n

As one of the world\u2019s preeminent centers for international economic law and policy, located blocks from U.S. agencies and the U.S. Congress, the Institute serves as the locus of study for issues across the field, including international trade, investment, financial regulation and innovation, business, technology, tax, arbitration, development, sovereign debt, and economic security.<\/span> We actively approach these areas as interrelated\u2014and at times overlapping\u2014policy spheres that influence how law is devised, practiced, and enforced.<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in 1999, the Institute offers the largest array of courses in international economic law in the country.<\/span> In addition to driving innovative research, the Institute convenes stakeholder meetings and conferences with leaders from both the public and private sectors, and it offers programming for both students and professionals across the spectrum of international economic law and policy.<\/span> At this historic inflection point for international economic order, the Institute serves as a platform for cutting-edge thinking and productive dialogue.<\/span><\/p>\n
