Jackson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Professor John H. Jackson<\/strong> was a leading scholar of international trade law and the founding Faculty Director of Georgetown Law\u2019s Institute of International Economic Law (IIEL). He joined the Georgetown faculty after serving as the Hessel E. Yntema Professor of Law at the University of Michigan. Throughout his career, Jackson advised the U.S. and foreign governments, international organizations, and other institutions on international trade and economic law. He also served as a Research Scholar at the GATT headquarters in Geneva and, in 2000, chaired a WTO dispute settlement panel. His scholarship was highly influential in the development of international trade law, including <em>The Jurisprudence of the GATT and the WTO: Insights on Treaty Law and Economic Relations<\/em> and <em>The World Trade Organization: Constitution and Jurisprudence<\/em>.
