The authors provide a twofold justification for adopting this highly <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">provocative stance.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">First, they argue that the introduction of EAIs will facilitate a unique<\/span><\/span><span class=\"markedContent\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">recali<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">bration<\/span><\/span><span class=\"markedContent\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of the necessity and last resort requirements of self-defense which would <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201c<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">enable<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201d<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">certain pre-emptive actions to be re-categorized as<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201c<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">anticipatory.<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201d <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Secondly, the authors contend that because EAIs will be able to<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201c<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">compute<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201d<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">post-<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">bellum considerations as part of their preparatory calculations, the potential <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">unlawfulness of pre-emptive actions are further mitigated.
