A graduate of Georgetown Law, he founded the firm Williams &amp; Connolly and was a premier Washington insider, representing a diverse clientele ranging from Senator Joseph McCarthy to Jimmy Hoffa. From 1946 to 1958, he taught criminal law and evidence at Georgetown Law. Williams also served as legal counsel to Georgetown University from 1949 to 1988.
