Treanor announced plans for a new academic law building on the Law Campus. Plans call for a 200,000-square-foot structure, in order to meet longstanding needs for students and to position the Law Center to best compete with peer institutions going forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"opportunity-modal-description\" role=\"region\" aria-label=\"description\">To bring it to fruition, we need your help. Georgetown Law\u2019s global alumni body and volunteer boards have already launched an inspiring fundraising effort. With a $30 million gift to name the new building Daniel Tsai Hall, successful Taiwanese businessman and 1979 Law alumnus Tsai set records for the largest single gift in Georgetown Law&#8217;s history, as well as the largest gift for facilities in Georgetown University&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"opportunity-modal-description\" role=\"region\" aria-label=\"description\">Now, alumni from the U.S. and abroad are naming spaces throughout the building \u2014 a compelling testament to the Law Center&#8217;s global reach and the support for this new initiative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"opportunity-modal-description\" role=\"region\" aria-label=\"description\">Daniel Tsai Hall greatly enhance the student experience on campus. It will feature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>16 Classrooms \u2014 with smaller sizes of 24, 50, 60, and 75 seats<\/li>\n<li>Student Gathering Spaces \u2014 to build community and foster collaborative work<\/li>\n<li>Clinical Programs Suite \u2014 a home for the nation&#8217;s most highly regarded legal clinics<\/li>\n<li>75-Seat Moot Courtroom \u2014 a modern facility befitting an award-winning student moot program<\/li>\n<li>Convening Spaces \u2014 event rooms with cutting-edge technology and sweeping outdoor terraces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"opportunity-modal-description\" role=\"region\" aria-label=\"description\">The architectural firm of the late, renowned I.M. Pei has conceived the new flagship building as a community-friendly entrance to the Law Campus. It will provide much needed instructional, study, and gathering space for students, while serving as a new architectural landmark within the neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"opportunity-modal-description\" role=\"region\" aria-label=\"description\">Designed with a host of environmentally sustainable features, the building will include ten outdoor terraces planted with greenery, rooftop solar panel arrays, and a system for capturing and reusing stormwater. Its upper floors will offer inspiring views of the U.S Capitol building.<\/p>\n<p role=\"region\" aria-label=\"description\">With Georgetown Law anchoring the university&#8217;s growing Capitol Campus, Daniel Tsai Hall will strengthen the Law Center for an increasingly prominent future of legal pedagogy, scholarship, leadership, and service.
