Georgetown Law’s 2017 Iron Tech Lawyer Competition
April 12, 2017 —
Who will be the next Iron Tech Lawyer? Join Georgetown Law for the 8th Iron Tech Lawyer competition, the culmination of the Technology, Innovation and Access to Justice course. Students have spent the spring semester collaborating with nonprofit organizations to design apps that promote access to the justice system and legal resources. Now, they will face off before a panel of judges and compete for the title of Iron Tech Lawyer.
At a time when proposed federal budget cuts threaten pro bono legal services, low-cost legal technology is needed more than ever. . Applications designed in previous years have helped juveniles hoping to seal their criminal records and start over, low-income immigrant families looking to determine health care coverage eligibility, and tenants navigating the housing court system.
The Iron Tech Lawyer competition has been licensed to other universities and is part of Georgetown Law’s commitment to legal education that embraces the cutting edge of technology. Watch a livestream on April 26 and cast your vote at: irontechlawyer.com.
