Allison McDonald
Allison McDonald is a Distinguished Fellow with the Center. She first joined the Center as a summer fellow in 2019 and then became a research fellow from 2019 – 2022 where she contributed to research on government surveillance of immigrant communities and co-authored American Dragnet: Data-Driven Deportation in the 21st Century. She is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences at Boston University, where her research focuses on understanding how technology threatens the privacy and safety of high-risk populations. She received her Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Michigan and also holds a B.S.E. in computer science and a B.S. in German from there as well.
