For more information on how the competitions work, Barristers’ Council hosts a Showcase every fall and spring semesters! There, you\u2019ll see demonstrations from current team members and learn about the tryout process for each team.<\/p>\n
Barristers’ Council consists of three divisions: Appellate Advocacy, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Trial Advocacy.\u00a0 Each of the Barristers’ Council divisions has 60 – 75 members.\u00a0 The teams accept between 20 and 25 new members each year through their rigorous in-house competitions.\u00a0 The competitions consist of multiple elimination rounds leading up to the semifinal and final rounds.\u00a0 Students may try out for as many divisions as they would like.\u00a0 However, if a student is invited to join multiple divisions, they must choose one.<\/p>\n

Beaudry is open to all 1L and 1E students. It is an opportunity for students to showcase the skills they have gained in their Legal Research and Writing Class by writing a brief and competing in a series of rounds of oral argument.
