Look for more information then!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>2026 Summer Resident Advisor Job Description<\/h2>\n<p>Summer Resident Advisors assist the participants living in the Gewirz Student Center in many ways. Specific duties are described below.<\/p>\n<h3>Emergency\/On Duty<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as first responder to most emergencies in the Gewirz Student Center.<\/li>\n<li>Carry cell phone, make rounds, and assist when necessary while on duty.<\/li>\n<li>Act as a floor marshal for the Gewirz Student Center.<\/li>\n<li>Work the front desk one evening a week from 5:00pm to 10:00pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Resource and Referral<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide information or referral on a variety of issues.<\/li>\n<li>Mediate resident conflicts and assist in apartment changes, when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Help residents adjust to living in an urban setting.<\/li>\n<li>Be approachable and available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Community Development<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold floor meetings at the beginning of the summer and with any conference group arrival.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct programs during the first week after move-in, focusing on adjustment to the summer living environment.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct programs that support a positive academic and social environment.<\/li>\n<li>Promote an atmosphere of mutual respect among the residents and concern for the physical environment.<\/li>\n<li>Confront inappropriate behavior when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate floor activities to promote community development.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a role model for residents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Administrative<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor and report the physical condition of the residence hall.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the spring closing (May 16), summer opening (May 29 &#8211; May 31) and closing (August 1) of the residence hall.\u00a0 ***dates subject to change<\/li>\n<li>Complete apartment inventories and rotating weekend desk hours, as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the preparation and set up for summer conference groups.<\/li>\n<li>Intervene and\/or assist security or medical personnel in case of emergencies.<\/li>\n<li>Take on-call week night and weekend duty on a rotating schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Attend weekly staff meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Attend weekly individual meetings with the Coordinator of Residence Life or the Director of Residence Life &amp; Student Housing.<\/li>\n<li>Support the mission of the Office of Residence Life.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Staff Training<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in staff training between May 25 and May 28 (evenings when possible).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Compensation<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A private room in a two bedroom apartment (shared with another summer staff member) in the Gewirz Student Center; utilities included.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Applications will be opening soon to become a Summer 2026 SRA. &nbsp; Your 2026 Summer Resident Advisors will be announced in April or May 2026.
