{"id":16501,"date":"2021-12-02T14:50:30","date_gmt":"2021-12-02T19:50:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/your-life-career\/campus-services\/information-systems-technology\/international-calling\/"},"modified":"2025-05-12T15:19:00","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T15:19:00","slug":"international-calling","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/your-life-career\/campus-services\/information-systems-technology\/international-calling\/","title":{"rendered":"International Calling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When making international calls from within the Capitol Campus you will need to do the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Open the Zoom Phone interface (either through the desktop app or mobile app).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Locate the number pad and enter the recipient&#8217;s phone number, starting with &#8220;011&#8221; followed by the country code, area\/city code, and the phone number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For example, to call Brazil (country code 55) in Rio de Janeiro (city code 21), dial 011-55-21-XXXX-XXXX.<\/p>\n<p>Tap the phone icon to initiate the call.<\/p>\n<p>Country codes can be found by using the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtocallabroad.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"cx_external_link\"><span class=\"cx_external_hyperlink\">HowtoCallAbroad.com International Calling Guide<\/span><span class=\"visually_hide\">(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><span class=\"cx_external_icon\"><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For calls originating within the Capitol Campus to countries within the North American Numbering Plan the format will be:<br \/>\nArea code \u2013 subscriber number (same as dialing a US state to state call).The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalnanpa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"cx_external_link\"><span class=\"cx_external_hyperlink\">North American Numbering Plan (NANP)<\/span><span class=\"visually_hide\">(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><span class=\"cx_external_icon\"><\/span><\/a> is an integrated telephone numbering plan serving 20 North American countries that share its resources.
