Mary Ellen Vigeant, Director<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mary Ellen oversees the day to day management of the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS), including partnering with students, faculty, and staff to promote accessibility across the Law Center. Prior to joining Georgetown, Mary Ellen was a Student Accessibility and Resource Specialist at the Fletcher School at Tufts University. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, she worked with students ages 3-21 before entering higher education. Mary Ellen is also a trained facilitator in the Law Center\u2019s Lawyers in Balance program. She finds that mindfulness grounds her personally and professionally, and she enjoys helping students to discover its benefits. Outside of work, Mary Ellen enjoys the beach, traveling, and spending time with her wife and fur children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amanda Lott, Associate Director<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Amanda engages with students and faculty in an interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations. Amanda has more than a decade of experience as a school psychologist with a National Certification as well as certifications in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Georgia, and California. She joined the Office of Accessibility Services in November of 2023.\u00a0 Amanda holds an Ed.S., M.Ed., and B.A. from Georgia Southern University.\u00a0 In addition to her work, Amanda enjoys movie nights with her wife, bird watching, cat tending, visits from nieces and nephews, and days spent swimming.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beatrice Hammett, Student Accessibility Coordinator<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Beatrice (she\/her) consults with campus partners to implement accommodations for students with a range of access needs. Prior to joining OAS, Beatrice served as an Intake Specialist with the Division of Rehabilitation Services Pre-Employment Transition Services. Beatrice earned a B.S. in Community Health from the University of Maryland School of Public Health and a M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Maryland College of Education where she found her passion for post-secondary education, inclusive higher education programs, and ensuring equitable access to higher education. Outside of work, Beatrice enjoys trying new foods and cuisines, tending to her plants, and spending time with her family and friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sara Emerick, Assistant Director<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sara (she\/her\/hers) collaborates with JD\/LLM students, faculty, and campus partners to foster inclusive, accessible learning environments. Sara has supported university students with disabilities across multiple institutions, ensuring they receive the accommodations necessary to access their courses and educational community. Sara holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Oregon State University. Outside of work, Sara enjoys traveling and trying new restaurants with friends.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
