An alternate path is to work for a defense contractor or consulting firm. In the private sector, a national security lawyer might help clients navigate governmental restrictions regarding finance, trade and procurement.\u00a0 In the public sector\u00a0national security and intelligence lawyers work within the federal government, the military and in non-profits, including research\/think tanks.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cs_control_5922\" class=\"cs_control CS_Element_Textblock\">\n<div class=\"CS_Textblock_Text\">\n<h2>National Security Law Resources<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/content\/dam\/aba\/administrative\/law_national_security\/nsl_text.pdf\"><em>Careers in National Security Law<\/em><\/a>, an ABA Standing Committee on Law and National Security introduces law students to the field of national security law. The Guide includes career paths, practitioner perspectives and links to employers and relevant online career sites.<\/li>\n<li>ABA Standing Committee on Law and National Security contains two resource pages worth reviewing:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/groups\/public_services\/law_national_security\/resources\/career_planning.html\">Career Planning Resources<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/groups\/public_services\/law_national_security\/resources\/links_of_interest.html\">National Security Resources on the Internet<\/a>, include comprehensive information on relevant publications and public and private employer links.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/national-security-center\/\">Georgetown Law Center for National Security and the Law<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/csis.org\/program\/wiis\">Women in International Security<\/a>, a member organization that advances women&#8217;s leadership in the international peace and security field.
