Reuben Jeffery

Reuben Jeffery III is currently a member of the board of directors at Affiliated Managers Group, Inc. (AMG), a leading partner to active investment management funds globally. Prior to his appointment at AMG, Mr. Jeffery served as President and Chief Executive Officer and member of the board of Rockefeller & Co. and Rockefeller Financial Services, Inc. from 2010 to 2018.

He previously served seven years in the U.S. government in a variety of positions, including as Under Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Agricultural Affairs; Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission; and as Special Assistant to the President on the staff of the National Security Council (2002-2009).

At Goldman, Sachs & Co., Mr. Jeffery was Managing Partner of the firm’s Paris office and of its European Financial Institutions Group in London. He began his career as a corporate attorney with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Currently, Mr. Jeffery also serves as an independent director and chairman of the board of SMBC Americas Holdings, Inc.

Mr. Jeffery is also chairman of the board of Riverstone Credit Opportunities Income Plc (RCOI) and a board member of CSE Insurance Group, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Covéa, a global insurer headquartered in France. He is also a board member of the Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC), a not-for-profit that supports economic development by strengthening financial sectors in developing countries.

Mr. Jeffery served as a non-executive director at Barclays Plc from 2010 to 2019. He received a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University and an M.B.A. and J.D. from Stanford University.

James Perry

James N. Perry, Jr. is a co-founder and Senior Advisor to Madison Dearborn Partners, a private equity firm based in Chicago.  Jim joined First Chicago Venture Capital, MDP’s predecessor firm, in 1984, and was among a dozen founding partners of MDP when the firm spun out of First Chicago in 1993.  Jim spent his career at MDP investing in venture capital, growth equity and management buyout stage companies in the telecommunications, media and technology services industries.  In late 2019, Jim relinquished his leadership duties for MDP’s TMT investing efforts and became Senior Advisor to the firm.

Mr. Perry is actively involved in several philanthropic efforts to alleviate poverty and reform education. He sits on the foundation and advisory boards of Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Charities of Chicago, respectively, and is a member of the Finance Council of the Archdiocese of Chicago. He is chairman of Empower Illinois, a statewide scholarship granting organization whose mission is to expand quality education opportunities for low-income and working-class families and a board member of and founding investor in Sunshine Enterprises, which helps budding entrepreneurs in Chicago’s underprivileged neighborhoods build their businesses.

Mr. Perry is a 1982 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and received an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1985.  He is a member of the Board of Advisors for Notre Dame’s College of Arts and Letters and a member of Booth School’s Private Equity Council at the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
