Housing

Georgetown Law’s Gewirz Student Center is now accepting applications for residential housing for the 2023-2024 academic year. All eligible law students seeking housing should complete the housing application by May 29, 2023 in order to be eligible for the housing lottery, as the lottery is expected to run on May 30, 2023. Once the housing lottery has been completed, selection times will be sent out to prospective residents and the selection process will commence. Most apartments are of the two bedroom variety, although there are a few three bedroom apartments and a very limited number of single occupancy apartments. Roommate groups of two or three will select based on the best lottery number generated for the group. Housing assignments will continue throughout the summer, as long as space is available. The Gewirz Student Center will be open from Saturday, August 19, until Saturday, May 18, (Monday, May 20, for graduating residents) without interruption.

The Global Law Scholars Program

The Global Law Scholars Program is still accepting applications from admitted students. Are you interested? More information can be found on the GLS website.

Supreme Court Institute Job Opportunity

Are you interested in Appellate advocacy? The Supreme Court? Are you very organized and have exceptional interpersonal skills? If so, you are invited to apply to join the Supreme Court Institute as its assistant director. SCI hosts moot courts for advocates preparing to argue virtually every case heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. As a Georgetown Law student, you will have the unique opportunity to observe our moot courts. You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how some of the best legal minds in the country use their skills in cases being decided by the highest court. Students often ask, "How can I get more involved?" As the Institute’s assistant director, you would be involved in every aspect of what we do!

The position is ideal for a student enrolling in (or interested in pursuing the possibility of switching to) the Evening Program. The schedule tracks closely with the academic calendar, and the assistant director may take a temporary leave from work over the summer to pursue another legal job. It offers flexible telework, and after one year of full-time employment at Georgetown Law, you would be eligible for the University’s Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). The start date will be in late July, 2023.

To apply, please email Debbie Shrager - des113@georgetown.edu - (1) an email briefly explaining why you are interested in working for SCI and (2) attach a current resume.
