Maria Duarte-Villa is the Operations Manager at the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection. With a strong foundation in historiography and social research, Maria has actively engaged in collaborative efforts with governmental and non-governmental organizations, particularly in the context of the Colombian armed conflict, where she has contributed to policymaking and peace-building efforts, supported projects for the reparation of victims, and promoted reconciliation in the region.

In addition to her contributions in conflict-related research, Maria has also delved into the economic and social impacts of public policy in Latin America during the 20th century, particularly on women’s lives. Now, as she takes on her role at the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection, her dedication extends to the administrative aspects of projects, where she continues to advocate for the defense of peace and democratic values.

Maria received her B.A. from the National University of Colombia and M.A. from the University of Puerto Rico.
