Jon Brescia

Prior to joining the Institute, Jon worked as a senior investigator at the law firm Edelson PC. At Edelson, he used his technical and legal knowledge to bridge gaps between litigation and case generation teams, dig into network traffic, and pressure-test companies’ promises to consumers.

Previously, Jon led the Digital Advertising Accountability Program as a VP at BBB National Programs. There, he oversaw a staff of attorneys and technologists responsible for enforcing a cross-industry privacy self-regulatory code. His program released the results of over 100 formal reviews, the majority of them requiring companies to modify their data privacy practices.

Originally from Ohio, Jon received his baccalaureate degree in history from Shawnee State University in Portsmouth and his JD from Capital University Law School in Columbus.
