Class of 2024

Nate is part of the Evening Program, working at the Privacy Branch of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs during the day and attending classes at night. As part of his work in OIRA, Nate oversees Federal agencies’ privacy programs and provides guidance to privacy officers to help ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies as well as manage privacy risk. Before coming to OIRA, Nate worked in the Office of Science and Data Policy of the Department of Health and Human Services as a Presidential Management Fellow. Nate’s academic and career interests lie in the intersection of emerging technologies and information privacy. He is a Senior Solicitations Editor for the Georgetown Law Technology Review.

Prior to law school, Nate completed his Master in Public Policy degree at the Harvard Kennedy School, concentrating in International and Global Affairs. As part of his thesis project, Nate worked with the Atlantic Council to produce a report about the challenges of enforcing security standards in consumer smart devices. His interest in Internet of Things (IoT) security brought him to work with the OECD’s Consumer Product Safety team in Paris as well as an IoT start-up in San Francisco.

Besides his MPP, Nate earned his BS in Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT and worked a few years in management consulting and research. When he’s not trying (and failing) to make a dent on his ever-growing reading list, Nate enjoys watching movies, traveling to new places, and playing video games.
