Brief Bio

Silvia Ferreri is full professor of Private Comparative law at Turin University (Italy) since 2002. She served previously as full professor of civil law at the University of Piemonte Orientale (1997-2002) and at Ca’ Foscari (Venice) (1996-1997). She was a junior professor at the University of Turin (1992-1996). She has taught comparative law as visiting professor at Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, USA) in 2008. As a member of the International Academy of Comparative Law Silvia Ferreri has been the general reporter to the XVIII International Congress of the Academy at Washington (2010) on the subject of uniformation of law. She is also a member of the Italian Board of the Association Henri Capitant des amis de la culture française. Professor Ferreri has worked as member of the terminology group at the Acquis Group project, sponsored by the EU Commission in order to prepare a future European Code of contract law. Her main fields of interest in law are uniformation of law, sale of goods, interpretation of contract, problems of communication across languages (false friends and pitfalls in legal drafting). Publications in English and French have been published by Revue internationale de droit comparé, Sellier, Kluwer international, Staempfli, Mohr Siebeck, Editions Thémis.
