Library Access

CTLS students have access to the King’s College’s Maughan Library and Information Services Centre, located on Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1LR. The Maughan Library is within walking distance of Bush House and houses the King’s College law, humanities, and physical sciences collections.

Students have access to King’s College study spaces including bookable group study rooms and pods within the libraries. More information can be found on the KCL Study Spaces webpage.

CTLS also has bookable group study space subject to availability and operating hours.

Student Oyster Card

Student Oyster Cards give a 30% off the price of adult-rate Travelcards and Bus passes. To register for an oyster card, follow the instructions on the TFL website and select the 18+student Oyster card.

Ensure you choose CTLS from the list of institutions and use the correct establishment registration number (9228) and your GoCard number. Please also indicate that you are a full-time student. Applications are reviewed regularly and once accepted, cards are sent out by mail within a few working days. Please note, we cannot accept end dates more than two weeks after the last day of the CTLS semester.

Sport and Fitness

Students have full access to the King’s College Sports facilities. Their latest gym on The Strand is in the same building as the CTLS facilities, on the lower ground floor. For more information about membership, opening hours and class timetables, please visit the King’s Sport Strand Gym website.

Students’ Unions

Students have full access to King’s College Students’ Union (KCLSU) and are entitled to get involved with everything the Union has to offer, including a wide range of events, clubs and societies, and spaces to hang out.

Students can also join a variety of clubs and societies via the University of London, which is a federation of 17 independent member institutions across London.
