Brief Bio

Studies in journalism, film and media management in Zurich (Switzerland), Washington D.C. (USA) and Linz. (Austria). Professor in film at the Zurich University of the Arts (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, ZHdK) and co-director of the Master’s programme in film, 1992- 2012. Member of the Swiss Film Academy. Member of the Swiss Federal Film Commission, during many years. Member of the board of the Fribourg Film Festival, 2013-2020. Jury president in numerous film festivals in Switzerland (Zurich, Nyon, Berne) and abroad. Since 2013, director of “outreach gmbh” (media and science communication), publishing director of “Cinébulletin” (a Swiss film periodical), lecturer at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) in the field of “Law in the movies”.
