Hope SHEILS, J.D. Candidate (‘23), Georgetown Law. Hope Sheils graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. with Honors in International Relations in 2016, and an M.A. in Public Policy in 2017. At Stanford, she was a Division I Varsity Athlete on the Women’s Rowing Team and an Academic Theme Associate in a dorm focused on global citizenship. She has interned in Brussels at an economic think tank, at the Human Rights Media Centre in Cape Town, South Africa, has worked at the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Countries (SEED) in Accra, Ghana.

In recent years, Hope has worked as legislative intern in the office of Senator Chuck Schumer and in the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee. Most recently, Hope worked as a Policy Analyst on the Democratic Staff of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee under Vice Chairs Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12) and Don S. Beyer (VA-08). Her research interests include economic, development, and women’s issues.
