Executive Education

Signature annual Executive Education programs include the Global Trade Academy (GTA) and DC Fintech Week. In 2020, the Institute launched its first executive programming abroad with the Fintech Policy Leaders Forum in Barbados.

Understanding the issues that drive the evolving global commercial architecture is more important now than ever. The Global Trade Academy has long been a pillar of IIEL’s Executive Education program with over almost two decades of experience in training government, NGO, international organization, and private sector leaders the world over. In 2017, IIEL launched Fintech Week, a unique policy forum for market participants, regulators, and thought leaders. Every year, the Institute partners with several knowledge partners from different sectors, including private sector companies, the Italian Embassy, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The partnership with the IMF was historic, with IIEL collaborating with the IMF in their first-time joint initiative with a University. Find out more about our Annual DC Fintech Week.

Launched in 2020, the Fintech Policy Leaders Forum is a platform for convening periodic conversations with international stakeholders across industry, governmental, and non-profit sectors. The first session was co-hosted by IIEL and the Barbados Financial Services Commission; participants from across the globe met in Bridgetown, Barbados to discuss how decentralized finance plays out across crypto/crypto infrastructures, open banking, and cybersecurity. IIEL also offers Custom Executive Education, based on stakeholder needs.  Bespoke programs can be delivered onsite or on campus. For further information regarding IIEL Executive Education, please contact Zainab Ahmed, the Institute’s Interim Executive Director.
