In 2017, IIEL launched Fintech Week, a unique policy forum for market participants, regulators, and thought leaders. Every year, the Institute partners with several knowledge partners from different sectors, including private sector companies, the Italian Embassy, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Launched in 2020, the Fintech Policy Leaders Forum is a platform for convening periodic conversations with international stakeholders across industry, governmental, and non-profit sectors. The first session was co-hosted by IIEL and the Barbados Financial Services Commission; participants from across the globe met in Bridgetown, Barbados to discuss how decentralized finance plays out across crypto/crypto infrastructures, open banking, and cybersecurity.
