Ejesha Amanova
Ejesha Amanova is an LL.M. student at Georgetown University Law Center. Being born and raised in Central Asia, Turkmenistan, she obtained her first law degree in Russia. Her educational background also includes studying law in Ukraine providing her with a
unique perspective on these two jurisdictions.
During her time at the Russian State University of Justice in Kazan, she was a researcher and an oralist of a Jessup moot court team. She volunteered to moot on complex topics like treaty interpretation and treaty succession with conflicting jurisdictions of WTO and ICJ proceedings. Jessup competition sparked Ejesha’s interest in international public law and dispute resolution. Thus, she decided to pursue an LL.M. to expand her knowledge of emerging legal issues in international trade, investment law, and regulation.
As part of her work experience, Ejesha practiced in various legal domains, from drafting AML and Data Privacy policies to managing international commercial contracts based on U.S. and UK laws.
She further built her expertise as a risk assessment specialist at a Turkish trading company in Istanbul. She actively participated in negotiations and gained valuable insights into trading dynamics, diverse stakeholders, and complex business issues.
Ejesha demonstrated her strong leadership skills throughout her study in law school where she founded and managed a Debate Club, organized Jessup moot court trainings, and team recruitment.
Besides her hard legal skills and expertise, she is an effective communicator. Ejesha speaks English, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, and Turkmen languages.
Her focus is on international trade development, compliance, and sanctions regulations.
