Johnathan Maynard is a 2nd-year evening program JD student at the Georgetown University Law Center (GULC). He originally hails from Los Angeles, California, but currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia where he works as a Patent Examiner with the Department of Commerce at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He holds a B.S. in Bioengineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University. He presently serves as a delegate to the GULC Student Bar Association and is a scholar with Georgetown’s Institute for Technology Law and Policy. 

He is passionate about the role that intellectual property plays in international trade and economic development, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to interact with experts and collogues to gain the knowledge and skills here at Georgetown and in the Institute of International Economic Law. Post-graduation he seeks to take an active role in trade policy, development, and regulation.
