Sinyoung “Diane” Seung is an LL.M. candidate in International Business and Economic Law at Georgetown University Law Center. 

Prior to joining the Georgetown Law community, Diane worked as a corporate lawyer at various law firms in Seoul, South Korea after being admitted to the Korean and Seoul Bar Association in 2017. Her areas of expertise include Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and startup investments. She also practiced competition laws in merger filing, civil litigation, and class actions. 

Diane is interested in the measures and strategies, from both the international and domestic realms, needed to ensure that a country’s economic growth extends to sustainable, resilient, and inclusive development. With her ample work experience as a corporate lawyer, she plans to examine the multifaceted dynamics among the state, corporations, and entrepreneurs as well as the role of institutions and the rule of law, in development. 

Diane graduated from Yonsei University in South Korea, earning degrees in Political Science and Diplomacy, with a minor in Economics. She holds a J.D. from Sogang University Law School in South Korea where she served as a Deputy Editor-in-chief of Sogang Law Review. 

Diane speaks in Korean and English. She is an avid photographer and also enjoys reading and traveling in her free time.
