Vicka Heidt
Prior to joining ICJI, Vicka worked at the Georgetown Institute fo
r Women, Peace and Security (WPS) as the 2025-2026 Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellow where she managed and contributed analysis to the WPS Conflict Tracker, a tool that offers insights into women’s experiences in 27 fragile and conflict-affected settings. Vicka also worked on national and international legal accountability at the Brookings Institution, examined military uses of artificial intelligence at the University of Cambridge, and collected legal data about prisoners of conscience at PEN America. She holds an MPhil in International Development from the University of Cambridge, where she was a Gates Cambridge Scholar. She previously graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University with dual BAs in Government and Justice and Peace Studies, and was selected as the valedictory convocation speaker. Her research and writing have appeared in academic journals and public scholarship outlets, including Just Security, Ms. Magazine, and PassBlue.
