Ambassador (Ret.) Clint Williamson, Senior Director for International Justice at Georgetown University and Lead Coordinator of the Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group for Ukraine (ACA), issued a statement following the death of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, honoring the late lawmaker’s dedication to accountability in Ukraine:

“My colleagues at ICJI and I note with sadness the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham — a great friend of Ukraine,” said Amb. Williamson. “Over the years, during my service as ambassador, in my time at the McCain Institute, and during the course of my work on Ukraine, I spoke with Sen. Graham on many occasions. Although I disagreed with his positions on certain issues, I was very appreciative of his strong advocacy for accountability in Ukraine and for his steadfast support of ACA. It is altogether fitting that his last days were spent on the ground in Kyiv, continuing to pursue a just outcome to this senseless war. His engagement and his voice on Ukraine, as on so many issues in the national security sphere, will be sorely missed.”
