ICJI Support to Ukraine Enhanced with $8.5 Million Extension from US State Department
The International Criminal Justice Initiative (ICJI) at Georgetown Law, which leads the Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group (ACA) for Ukraine is delighted to announce an $8.5 million cost extension from the US State Department’s Office of Global Criminal Justice for our work in Ukraine, along with a $1 million in-kind contribution of armored vehicles.
“This funding is critical for advancing our unprecedented work done in partnership with Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General,” said Amb. (Ret.) Clint Williamson, lead coordinator of ACA and head of ICJI. “Together we strive to ensure that the perpetrators of atrocity crimes in Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine — from deportations of children to missile attacks on schools and medical facilities — are held accountable for their heinous actions. We are extremely grateful for this important financial support.”
ACA provides coordinated, timely, multidisciplinary expert assistance to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, with the goal of ensuring justice and accountability for atrocity crimes committed during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. ACA is an initiative of the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and comprised of five partner organizations alongside ICJI – the European Union Advisory Mission for Ukraine (EUAM), Global Rights Compliance (GRC), the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), and Pravo Justice.
