Kelly Moore
A native of New York City, Kelly has a distinguished career that includes domestic and international leadership roles in organizational management, operations and external relations in the non-profit, public and private sectors.
She has spent significant time working in conflict and post-conflict zones, including for United Nations Peacekeeping Operations and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia; the U.S. State Department; and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, both in Ukraine and in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Moore also was a member of the 9/11 Commission and the Senate press secretary to Sen. Joe Lieberman during his Vice Presidential run. As well, she was the chief of staff for the US division of United Way, the largest non profit network in the world with $4 billion in annual revenue, and the Chief Operating Officer of Active Minds, a national mental health education and advocacy non-profit.
She holds a Master’s in Russian and East European studies and a master’s in Journalism from Indiana University. She received her undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Southern California. Moore also has a Certificate in World Art History from the Smithsonian Institution, and was a member of a joint US-German art history team investigating the whereabouts of more than 1,000 paintings that went missing from Hitler’s office in Munich at the end of World War II.
A trained yoga teacher, Moore was the yoga instructor for the Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals hockey team.
