Paul is a Captain with the Verona Police Department (New Jersey) and has been in a supervisory role since 2011. The first seventeen years of his career has been spent in patrol, to which he is most proud, as he feels this is where you have the most contact with the public and can best serve the community.

Paul now serves in an administration role and some of his responsibilities include; Professional Standards Commander, in charge of the Detective Bureau, Training, DV Liaison and Accreditation Manager. Paul also serves as a Negotiator, CIT officer, SWAT operator, and NJ Police Training Commission certified police academy instructor. Paul is a certified instructor in De-escalation/ICAT, Less Lethal, Disorder Control, and OC Spray. Paul is also an experienced adjunct professor of various CJ programs at different colleges & universities.

Paul has a BA degree in Criminal Justice from Caldwell University and a MS degree in Criminal Justice Leadership from Northeastern University. Paul is a Certified Public Manager (CPM), and a graduate of the NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police Command & Leadership Academy (West Point Command School), as well as the FBI Supervisory, Command, and Executive Command Institutes, to complete the FBI LEEDA Trilogy program. Paul is also an Accredited Command Executive (ACE).

Paul has spent a great deal of time in Ireland, training with the An Garda Siochana (Irish National Police Force), as well as the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), and has trained alongside the London Metropolitan Police, as well as the City of London Police while over in England. Paul is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 274).

Paul is a member of the IACP, FBI LEEDA, FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA / NJ FBINAA), Verona PBA Local 72, American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the Essex County Emerald Society.

Paul is married with three sons and in his free time, he coaches little league baseball and basketball for his sons’ teams or may also be found somewhere in New York City, taking in live bands as they perform in various venues.
