CICS is proud to be hosting the Alternative Response Research Collective (ARRC), a first-of-its-kind project in partnership with nine alternative first response organizations from across the country. ARRC hopes to provide foundational learnings from the ever-expanding field of behavioral-health crisis response and nonviolent diversion that can help researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in continuing to evolve the practice to best aid their communities.

ARRC is premised around five main research objectives, each of which hopes to address a significant question facing the field of alternative response. Through extensive interviews and data collection, ARRC researchers are putting a focus on issues like consent-based practice, funding, and the future of community safety infrastructure.
