Jada Dennis headshotJada is a Justice and Peace major at Georgetown University. She worked primarily on the oral history project, The Community That Lives Here: Survival Stories of DC Communities Impacted by Gun Violence. Jada’s favorite memory at CICS was: “Being involved in community-based research opened my eyes so much. It is not a culmination of analysis reports and theories; they are real people with real perspectives. Each word, each story, each person, you could not replace the value of what each individually had. Such unique and intrinsic testimonies of what surrounded the realities of gun violence. I may never get to tell each person how they changed my life forever, mostly because I hardly have the words to explain how significant their courage to share has influenced my thoughts and new paths for the future.”
