Amanda Jones

Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Amanda spent part of her childhood between the United States and Brazil. Navigating different cultures firsthand, deepened by her academic work, gave Amanda a lasting interest in how perspectives shape legal systems across borders.

Amanda graduated summa cum laude with High Honors from the University of Florida, earning a B.S. in Public Relations, a minor in History, and a Certificate in International Communications. During her undergraduate career, she served as Vice President of the university’s Study Abroad Peer Advisors Program and was a member of the International Scholars Program.

At Trinity College Dublin, Amanda conducted archival research using original Portuguese, Spanish, and English primary sources, developing written analyses of how competing historical narratives shape modern political institutions. She carried that same cross-cultural lens into work in Brazil, study in Italy, and service across Costa Rica and Peru.

Back in Florida, Amanda put that same instinct to work in more practical settings. At a Fort Lauderdale law firm, she independently developed a public-facing legal resource translating criminal statutes and more than 30 offenses into plain-language explanations of charges and procedures. During three years at Alpha PR, she advised nonprofit and corporate clients on stakeholder negotiations, shareholder disputes, and strategy development, collaborating directly with C-suite executives. As a published journalist, she reported on the local effects of state and federal legislation.

Amanda hopes to build an international practice around cross-border transactions, particularly M&A and trade, drawn to the legal questions that only surface when different systems and cultures are brought together.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Amanda enjoys piano composition, hiking, scuba diving, and discovering local music scenes.
