Anya grew up in Washington State and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University in 2022 with a B.S. in International Politics and a minor in French. While at Georgetown, Anya was a Provost Distinguished Undergraduate Research Fellow and captain of the fencing team.

Anya has interned for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, and the Council on Foreign Relations Global Governance department, where she published an original paper arguing for expanded legal protections for climate refugees.

Following graduation, Anya worked as an Intelligence Analyst for the US defense community with specializations in Eastern Europe, climate change, and political leadership. She was then awarded a Fulbright Research Grant to Athens, Greece to work with the UN Chair for Climate Diplomacy. In Greece, Anya published a policy paper examining the impacts of EU climate adaptation and mitigation measures on gender-based security, provided research for numerous conferences including COP28, and helped write a speech for President Katerina Sakellaropoulou of Greece.

Anya is eager to study the intersections of national security, international trade, and human rights law at Georgetown. In her free time, Anya enjoys baking, hiking, reading fantasy books, and finding the best coffee shops in DC.
