Lola Michel-Infante

Lola Michel-Infante is a Spanish American from Washington, DC. She graduated summa cum laude from New York University in 2021 where she double-majored in Spanish and Global Liberal Studies with a concentration in Politics, Rights, and Development. She also holds a Master’s degree from NYU in International Relations and International Law. Both her undergraduate and graduate theses won department awards: the former explored sexual exploitation and abuse against women and children in UN peacekeeping operations, while the latter investigated the evolution and impacts of ethno-nationalist movements in Spain.

During her time at NYU, Lola volunteered to build safe housing in the Guatemalan Highlands, interned for a local grassroots organization in Madrid that provides social and legal services to immigrants and asylum seekers, and served as an AmeriCorps member with Jumpstart to support early childhood education in New York City and Washington, DC.

After graduating, she worked at the American Foreign Service Association, helping manage its communication and educational outreach efforts. She then transitioned to communications consulting at a firm in New York, where she advised leading technology companies, such as Google and WhatsApp, on how to navigate policy and reputational challenges, particularly regarding the rise of AI.

After law school, she hopes to pursue a career in international law and human rights. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, going on long walks, and trying out new recipes!
