Lucy Benoit

Lucy Benoit graduated magna cum laude from the University of Oregon Clark Honors College with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in Economics and Chinese. She also completed two concentrations in Global Engagement and Politics, Law, & Justice. While at UO, Lucy wrote and defended an original thesis on ongoing strategic relations and missile defense developments between the United States and China, earning Departmental Honors in Political Science. She was also inducted into the Alpha of Oregon Phi Beta Kappa Chapter.

Though originally from Portland, Oregon, Lucy also lived in Shanghai, China during grade school and has continued to study Mandarin Chinese since. As an undergraduate student, she returned to China as an intern with the American Chamber of Commerce in China. After graduating, she spent a gap year living in Beijing, continuing language study and dedicating time to travel internationally before law school.

As a J.D. candidate at Georgetown, Lucy is interested in exploring transnational corporate work, international trade law, and using her Chinese language skills to support cross-border work. In her free time, Lucy enjoys dancing (especially ballet), spending time in nature, and supporting her Oregon Ducks sports teams.
