Program on Law, Ethics, and International Security

This program is coordinated by Professor Mitt Regan, and examines how lawyers can use their skill and ethical judgment in innovative ways to further peace, security, and justice in a world in which these efforts increasingly must take account of dynamics that that transcend national borders. The program provides opportunities for students to conduct research and assist with its initiatives, and works with student organizations to sponsor speakers and events. The program also works with the Prosecutors Center for Excellence to support the Community Prosecutor Program of the Ukraine Prosecutor General’s Office, which is designed to foster closer relationships between prosecutors in four pilot regions in Ukraine and the communities they serve.

Program on Lawyers and Democracy

Coordinated by Professor Regan, this program engages in projects and sponsors events that focus on the distinctive responsibility of lawyers to uphold and defend democracy and the rule of law. It provides opportunities for students to become involved in these projects.

Program on Lawyers, Business, and Human Rights

This program is coordinated by Professor Mitt Regan and Senior Fellow Elise Groulx Diggs, and explores the increasing attention given to the human rights impacts of business operations and the role of lawyers in increasing awareness of and accountability for such impacts. The program sponsors events for students to inform them about this emerging dynamic field of human rights, and Professor Regan serves as faculty advisor to the student organization on Business and Human Rights at the Law Center.

Program on Technology, Ethics, and the Legal Profession

This program is coordinated by Senior Fellow Professor Jonah Perlin, and explores the impact of emerging technologies on legal practice, legal ethics, and legal education. In order to better balance the benefits and challenges posed by these new legal technologies, the Program seeks to foster collaboration among academics, law firms, regulatory bodies, and the legal tech community to develop actionable and responsible recommendations. It sponsors events that bring these stakeholders together; events for students to discuss these developments for their careers and their formation of a professional identity as lawyers; and sponsors conducts research on the role and impact of technology in the legal profession.
