Ella Lesher HeadshotClass of 2028

Ella Lesher is a J.D. candidate at Georgetown University Law Center. She intends to focus her legal studies on governing advanced innovation, with a particular interest in intellectual property (IP) law.

Outside of class, Ella is a competitor in the Barristers’ Council ADR Division and a member of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association. She is also a 1L representative for both the American Constitution Society and OutLaw.

Ella’s distinctive interdisciplinary background is rooted in her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in Neurobiology and Government. This foundation informs her approach to policy and problem-solving, specifically around neurolaw and the regulation of biological data. She applied this knowledge in previous research roles, including investigating the implications of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments on neurolaw and emerging technology during an editorial internship at D.C. Witness.

Ella is currently exploring career paths in IP, aiming to leverage her dual expertise in hard science and legal analysis. In her free time, you can find her solving the NYT crossword, perfecting her chocolate chip cookie recipe, or working out at the gym!
