Georgetown AI and the Legal Profession (GAILP) Initiative Visit to Houson

May 7, 2026

Georgetown Law’s Institute for Technology Law & Policy hosted an event titled ‘AI & The Legal Profession’ in Houston, which brought together Georgetown alumni and leaders across the legal industry for a thoughtful discussion on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the practice of law.

A huge thank you to our outstanding Georgetown Law Alumni panelists — Leana Garipova, Rebekah Bennett, and Tyler Bridegan — for sharing candid insights on everything from AI-assisted legal research and drafting to professional responsibility, client trust, and the future of legal work.

What stood out most was the energy in the room and the range of perspectives attendees brought to the conversation. It’s clear there is tremendous interest in creating space for thoughtful, practical, and ethical conversations about the future of the profession.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. The Institute looks forward to continuing these conversations and building community around the evolving intersection of law and technology.
