Patrick Yurky
Patrick Yurky (he/him) is a Justice Fellow at the Institute for Technology Law & Policy.
He holds a JD, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
Prior to law school, Patrick worked as a software engineer at Google, Microsoft, and AI startup Petuum. During law school, he focused extensively on technology policy, working at EqualAI and the Tech Institute on AI policy and research, serving as rapporteur for Public Knowledge’s Policy Conclave on a Digital Regulator, and working as a research assistant to multiple Georgetown Law professors on AI and law issues. Most recently, Patrick has worked on AI policy analysis at Americans for Responsible Innovation and helped develop automated legal compliance systems at Luminos.AI.
His work focuses on AI governance and emerging technology policy, with particular interests in mental health applications, children’s safety, and education. He draws on his technical and legal background to bridge discussions between technical and policy communities. Outside of work, he enjoys trivia (learning, playing, writing, and hosting) and many different sports (currently pickleball).
