Class of 2025

Hoon Kim graduated from the Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business at the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in International Studies and BSc in Economics. He also holds a Master in Science in Software Development from Boston University. Hoon grew up in China, Sudan, and South Korea and has also spent a significant amount of time living in Japan.

At Georgetown Law, Hoon is pursuing his interests in privacy and consumer protection law in the internet, social media, and e-commerce sectors. He is also interested in international law and international trade. Hoon served as a 1L delegate for the First Generation Students Union, a student organization focused on building a community to help first-generation college and law students navigate law school.

Prior to law school, Hoon worked as an analytics consultant, data analyst, and data scientist in the e-commerce sector. His work has taken him to Virginia, Boston, Colorado, and Tokyo, Japan. His past work includes optimizing a global fast food chain’s rollout of self-service order kiosks and managing a travel company’s strategic investment in content translation services. Hoon also served in the South Korean military as an army intelligence linguist. He is a native Korean speaker, is fluent in Japanese, and codes in SQL, Java, Python, and Visual Basic.

In summer 2024, Hoon will be working as a Summer Associate in Cooley’s Cyber/Data/Privacy Practice in Washington DC.
