Kiara Kunnes is a J.D. candidate and Technology Law and Policy Scholar at Georgetown University Law Center, where she is pursuing a career in data privacy and cybersecurity law. Her academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of global governance, human rights, and technology policy.

Before law school, Kiara developed her passion for international policy and cybersecurity through roles at the U.S. Department of State, the Commonwealth Club of California, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office Cybercrime Unit, and TRM Labs, a blockchain intelligence company. She graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa at UC Davis.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Kiara enjoys cooking, hiking, cafe hopping, spending time with friends and family, and giving her dog lots of love.
