A Celebration of Black Girlhood

the Initiative’s tenth-anniversary celebration: a special evening of art, poetry, and more to celebrate the joys of Black girlhood!
An incredible lineup of artists, scholars, and youth will join us throughout the evening for performances and discussion of theย importance of centering marginalized girls.
The Initiative, whichย authored the original adultification bias report(This link opens in a new tab),ย will be represented by Senior Scholarย Dr. Camille Quinn, our Youth Storyteller in Residence,ย Logan Green, and Executive Directorย Rebecca Epstein.
Come join artists and activists includingย Marley Dias, founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks,ย Scheherazade Tillet, photo-based artist, curator, and feminist activist who explores the themes of Blackness, play, freedom, trauma, and healing, andย Makayla Rivera, a youth poet, to bring our work to life.
