Hyunwook (Jason) Kang
Jason is a 1L student and a member of Cohort 8 in the Business Law Scholars program. After law school, he plans to work in BigLaw. Long term, he would like to delve further into the life sciences sector and lead a biotechnology company.
At Georgetown, Jason is involved as a member of the Corporate and Financial Law Organization (CFLO), Student Intellectual Property Law Association (SIPLA), Korean American Law School Association (KALSA), and Asian Pacific American Law School Association (APALSA).
Background
Jason graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a BS in Neuroscience and a minor in Psychology. During undergrad, he was an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Brown Laboratory. Jason was also involved as the President of the MEDLIFE Chapter at Johns Hopkins University, and as the Internal Vice President of the Korean Student Association.
After graduation, Jason was a Research Technologist at Brown Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he investigated the organization of corticothalamic neurons in the layer 5 of the mouse motor cortex underlying neuromuscular diseases, developed a computational pipeline for generating reconstructions of neurons, and presented the results at the GBSFN conference. He then joined the Republic of Korea Air Force, 11th Fighter Wing, where he was an English Interpreter for the Civil Engineer Squadron.
Beyond Law School
Jason is from South Korea. In his free time, he enjoys working out, watching movies, listening to music, and traveling. Interests include science, politics, and baseball. He is fluent in English and Korean.
