Georgetown AI and the Law (GAIL) Initiative Launch
November 6 marks the launch of the Georgetown AI and the Law (GAIL) Initiative housed in the Georgetown Law Institute for Technology Law & Policy (the Tech Institute). GAIL will explore the rapidly growing impact of AI on legal practice and the fields of law and public policy.
GAIL seeks to be a resource and connection hub for Georgetown and beyond. Not a day goes by that we do not receive questions from prospective or current students, alumni, or employers about what AI means for lawyers, and not just tech lawyers. Georgetown Law is the largest producer of new lawyers in the U.S. each year, and we want to understand how best to prepare students to enter a profession being shaped in real time by the expanded use of AI, as well as related questions of professional responsibility, the future of work and job displacement and creation, access to justice, and more.
